Hours of service (Canada)
Allowed to drive a maximum of 13 hours in a day within a 24 hour period
A minimum of 10 hours off-duty time must be taken every day (2 hours apart from 8 consecutive hours required)
Each break must be a minimum of 30 minutes each
Not allowed to drive after 14 hours on duty in a day
All drivers must take 24 consecutive hours off duty every 14 days
Work shift is the the elapsed time between two off-duty periods of at least eight consecutive hours
36 consecutive hours off to reset or switch from Cycle 1
72 consecutive hours off to reset or switch from Cycle 2
Driver must take at least 24 consecutive hours off-duty prior to accumulating any period of 70 hours of on-duty

Allowed to drive a maximum of 11 hours in a day within a 14 hour work shift period
A minimum of 10 hours off-duty time must be taken every day
A thirty minute rest break is mandatory before reaching 8 hours of consecutive driving
Work shift is the the elapsed time between two off-duty periods of at least ten consecutive hours
34 consecutive hours off to reset
